The Truth
As I see it
What is Socialism? Well it is a form of government that is without question, however what form.
noun
a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.
Oxford Dictionary
What does that entail anyway? “The community as a whole” is what? Who says who gets what, who does what?
Ayn Rand said it best in my opinion “Unto Each according to their need; from Each according to their ability”.
If I am reading the definition right, then the “community” owns everything even my house and it gives me the right to live there. If the “community” owns and gives out everything then what do I need to work for and if I do work what do I get

Origins of Socialism
“Socialism developed in opposition to the excesses and abuses of liberal individualism and capitalism. Under early capitalist economies during the late 18th and 19th centuries, western European countries experienced industrial production and compound economic growth at a rapid pace. Some individuals and families rose to riches quickly, while others sank into poverty, creating income inequality and other social concerns.” The most famous early socialist thinkers were Robert Owen, Henri de Saint-Simon, Karl Marx, and Vladimir Lenin. It was primarily Lenin who expounded on the ideas of earlier socialists and helped bring socialist planning to the national level after the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution

It is easy to see how it got started
what is the reason it is so popular now?
From Wikipedia
“Common ownership under socialism may take shape through technocratic, oligarchic, totalitarian, democratic or even voluntary rule. Prominent historical examples of socialist countries include the former Soviet Union and Nazi Germany. Contemporary examples include Cuba, Venezuela, and China. Due to its practical challenges and poor track record, socialism is sometimes referred to as a utopian or “post-scarcity” system, although modern adherents believe it could work if only properly implemented. They argue socialism creates equality and provides security – a worker’s value comes from the amount of time he or she works, not in the value of what he or she produces — while capitalism exploits workers for the benefit of the wealthy.”
This statement that the reason it fails all the time is it isn’t implemented properly. What does that even mean? China, as is Russia is adding capitalism to prop their economy and make money for the government. Margaret Thatcher Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Briton said so “The problem with Socialism is at some point you run out of other people’s money”. Is that what happened in Venezuela? And is happening to other countries attempting Socialism? There is yet to be a county that fully implements Socialism to succeed.
The word Nazi in English means “National Socialism Party”, we remember how well that worked. The USSR again worked very well even though the USSR ended up as a communist country, was founded by Vladimir Lenin as a Socialist country. One of his quotes that I use a lot, “The goal of Socialism is Communism”. He coined the term “Democratic Socialism” to fool what he called the “Useful Idiots” (the population AKA voters).
Wolf at the Door
Is this true?
So, I would, under a Socialist government own nothing not even my clothes? Would have to have a job or just stay home all day and do nothing? Where does all the means for supporting all the freebies come from, taxing the rich. Well way back in 1913 President Wilson started the graduated income tax amendment to the Constitution so he could tax the rich at 7% (never to go up). The rich at the time made about $3000.00 a year. Now it is somewhere near 37% . When the rich take all the deductions they are able to get and pay much less taxes. Do you just pay what you owe or do you take all the deductions you can to lower your taxes?
Then add in state income tax it approaches 50% of their income. Then all the other taxes we all pay from Social Security, FICA, unemployment, sales taxes on everything gas tax, heck I can’t even thing of all the taxes we pay and presidential candidate Bernie Sanders wants to raise taxes, “just on the rich” sound familiar, that has been said since 1913 and still it effects everyone.
“Sooner or later” you will run out of money and then what? Who pays for everything that the Socialist want to give away? I don’t even want to get into the topic of Open Borders. That just leads to major problems lest of which is crime, over population, giving away American dollars to aliens. I am told it is humane to let them in. what is humane about all the crime that is committed every second of each day by illegal aliens. Just by crossing the border without a visa is a crime
