Coffee Time Again

New Podcast and Blog

Coffee Time Again is a new Podcast and Blog. We will focus on how history has and continues to shape America today. There will be a place for comments and show notes on the website and at my hosts website. I have not yet started to record any of the eleven scripts that I have completed however that will happen in late February and published in early March. In the meantime I will continue here and on social media.

First lesson

Are You Ready?

The first lesson should I suppose should be on the First Amendment, however I am going to start with something that I have not written a script for a Podcast yet.

Power of the People

Power of the People

Not a history lesson yet

The power of the People. It is what makes this country great. WE the people rule. It was shown again this week when the US Senate voted to acquit President Trump. Yes I know not really history yet, however it will go down in history. However, anything over and done is history. The power of the people has been shown three times that the country has impeached a president, with three acquittals. The first time was just as a political show as the most recent one. Andrew Johnson was impeached in March of 1868 over his firing of his secretary of war, which was illegal under a law passed by Congress over his veto, just as an excuse to them to have a way to impeach him even though there were 11 Articles of Impeachment against him, he was acquitted by just one vote, the power of the people.

Again as this quote from Wikipedia shows how WE rule “…The impeachment and trial of Andrew Johnson had important political implications for the balance of federal legislative–executive power. It maintained the principle that Congress should not remove the president from office simply because its members disagreed with him over policy, style, and administration of the office…” Yes, it was attempted again by the House of Representatives in the impeachment of President Trump. and again the Power of the People showed that a president can not be removed for disagreement and pure simple hate.
